Boxing, one of the world’s oldest sports, seems to be in crisis. A multitude of titles, celebrity bouts, and controversial scorecard decisions. Yet, things point to a bright future ahead.
Coach Billy Nelson has been travelling for the past four months. His main focus has been training Hafþór ‘The Mountain’ Björnsson for his bout with Eddie Hall, which he won last Saturday. In the past five years, Coach Nelson only has one loss amongst his fighters. He recently spoke to Fighter Magazine about coaching Thor and his wider coaching insights.
The anticipated bout between two titans went all 6 rounds and was decided by unanimous decision. Thor stood as the victor of the fight but the bitter rivalry seems far from over, despite some show of good sportsmanship from both sides.
Two friends turned rivals will meet for what has been dubbed ‘the heaviest boxing match in history.’ At the recent weigh-ins Thor reached a weight of 152kg, while Eddie will enter the ring at 142.2kg. The two strongmen will settle their personal differences this Saturday.
