Frida Wallberg (10(2 KO)-0-0) försvarar sin WBC VM-titel i boxning mot Amanda Serrano (14-0-1) från USA på Cloetta Center i Linköping den 27 april. Den av WBC utsedda utmanaren och förra mästarinnan i viktklassen, Jelena Mrdjenovich, fokuserar på ny viktklass och avstod matchen vilket innebar att Serrano nu har fått chansen.
Vänsterboxaren Amando ”The Real Deal” Serrano, 24 år, kommer från Brooklyn i New York men är född i Puerto Rico. Serrano är liksom Wallberg hittills obesegrad och så här sade hon till Boxingnews24.com inför WBC Titelmatchen i i Super Fjädervikt mot Golden Girl:
“I want to thank my promoter Boxing360 for making this fight happen. It’s very difficult getting these championship fights finalized. The contract is signed and I’m ready to go. This will be my first time traveling overseas to fight for a world title and I’m going to make the best of this opportunity. My goal is to get the knockout and leave no doubts in the judges’ minds.”
WBC:s Female Boxing Director Ed Pearson har också kommenterat matchen:
“I believe we have a tremendous title fight at hand with two undefeated top-rated pound for pound champions in the ring. I do indeed look forward supervising this great fight in Linköping!”
